SIMONSWERK GmbH, founded by Hugo Simons in Rheda nr. Dortmund, Germany, has produced hinge and hardware products for over 100 years. They acquired leading UK brass hinge manufacturer Hinges & Things in December 1999 in order to broaden their European product portfolio, of primarily steel hinge systems and hardware, with the addition of brass hinges from the UK.

Based in Tipton, West Midlands this now wholly owned Group subsidiary have over 30 years experience in the manufacture of top quality brass, aluminium and stainless steel hinges for doors and windows and can now provide to the UK Architectural Ironmongery and Builders Hardware Industry a combined supply source for over 4,000 catalogue items.

The company was originally formed in 1976 and are members of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers. A new warehouse was built in 2004 and in 2008 enhanced production facilities added. Robin Guy, the current Managing Director, son of founder director Trevor, joined the company in 1987 and has seen the development of an outstanding range of high performance solid brass butt and solid aluminium hinges. These include the popular SAMSON high performance bearing brass hinge with CE marked and designer finial versions. The company has won awards for superior levels of customer service and is dedicated to providing the correct architectural ironmongery solution for a wide variety of door hinge projects throughout the residential, commercial and leisure market sectors.
