“CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD”

On Saturday 24th April 2010, four members of the SIMONSWERK UK sales team attended the Institute of Architectural Ironmongers Annual General Meeting where they were presented with the Paul Lewis award for outstanding customer service.  The award is sponsored annually by Royde & Tucker and presented by the IAI Executive Committee at the AGM Dinner Dance to the most nominated company or individual.

Pictured are members of the award winning SIMONSWERK team, Stephen Slater, Patrick Calvey and Linda Griffin. Emma Gwilt was also nominated by SIMONSWERK customers. UK Managing Director Robin Guy (far right) congratulated all members of the award winning sales team for their efforts in gaining this notable industry achievement. Congratulatory messages were also received from the Chief Executive and World Export Manager based at the SIMONSWERK GmbH parent company in Germany.

GOLD PLATED SIMONSWERK

SIMONSWERK UK recently completed a unique and challenging project for bespoke hinges for a Nash designed Villa in Regent’s Park, London. Once home to a Russian Prince and Napoleon’s older brother this 19th Century grade 1 listed building has been restored to achieve detailing to capture its original glory.

With over one hundred doors nowhere had more effort been expended than on the hinges. Ironmongery supplier Franchi’s turned to UK brass hinge specialists SIMONSWERK to produce two microns thick gold-plated hinges with unique urn-shaped finials using special brass extrusions. Architects Quinlan & Francis Terry complemented SIMONSWERK on matching the owner’s specific requirements from only an original drawing. This challenging bespoke assignment encompassed the supply of 167 pairs of hinges plus over 90 smaller versions.

TECTUS – THE NEXT GENERATION

SIMONSWERK UK have introduced a new generation of their award winning fully concealed TECTUS range of hinges. TE 240, 340, 540 & 640 3D options, specifically designed for quality residential and heavy duty doors are distinguished by convenient continuous height adjustment which enables the achievement of a perfect even gap between the door and frame providing hassle free door alignment and efficiency. The TE 540 & 640 3D A8 versions allow for door claddings up to 8mm to enable designers to create new styles with, for example, mirror or laminate door elements within specific interior concepts.

Maintenance-free slide bearings, left & right hand adjustability with overall harmonious visual appearance remain outstanding features of the exceptional TECTUS hinge system.

VARIANT PLANUM
“The heavy duty hinge for architectural harmony”

The heavy-duty VARIANT Planum reduced size filigree hinges are of strong construction, maintenance-free, carry load capacities of up to 160 kgs and offer outstanding operating characteristics. Moreover they are CE-certified and suitable for fire and smoke resistant doors.
